Scarlett signed a new contract with Spurs earlier in the week that keeps him at the north London club until 2026.

The 18-year old has already played ten games for the senior team at Spurs and he is seen as a prospect for the future at the club, his new contract hinting at the side’s view of him.

Matt Judge resigned last month from his role as director of negotiations at the Red Devils and one of his jobs in his last days involved the Spurs scarlet.

Before he resigned towards the end of April, Judge enquired Spurs about the availability of Scarlett on behalf of the Red Devils.

He was quickly rebuked by Spurs as they informed him that the starlet had agreed a contract extension.

The Spurs academy graduate found himself playing for both the Under-23s and the senior team in the recent season.

Though he only had one substitute appearance for Spurs in the Premier League, he made the matchday squad often in the recent season.
