The Fratton Park outfit have been busy backing boss Danny Cowley in the ongoing summer transfer window as they look to give the manager the tools needed for a promotion push.

Cowley is keen to continue strengthening his attacking options and his eyes have been drawn towards London Road.

Portsmouth are looking at potentially signing winger Ward from Peterborough.

Ward, 26, played in Peterborough’s League One opener at the weekend, a 3-2 win away at Cheltenham Town, and chipped in with two assists.

The wide-man is now into the final year of his contract at Peterborough and it remains to be seen if Posh can be tempted to sell.

Ward has been on the books at Peterborough since joining from Woking in 2018 and is closing in on the 200-appearance milestone for the club.

Portsmouth are due to face Peterborough in League One just two days after the transfer window closes and it remains to be seen if they will have Ward on the books by then.
