Two inexplicable own goals from Leicester defender Wout Faes handed Liverpool a 2-1 win and three points at Anfield on Friday night.

Liverpool moved within two points of the top four spots with the win at home, but Owen insisted that the performance was not good and they were well below their best at home against the Foxes.

The former Liverpool striker pointed out that the Reds created very little in the first half but conceded that the result is all that matters despite the average nature of their performance.

But Owen stressed that it was a very un-Liverpool-like performance at Anfield and feels Klopp should be worried about how poor his team looked on the night.

The former Red said on Premier League TV: “I thought it was an average performance from Liverpool.

“In the second half, they created some chances but they didn’t create much at all in the first half. They had one shot on target, yet scored two goals.

“It was an average performance.

“There is a lot more to come from Liverpool and it’s all about the three points, performances are a bonus.

“I think Jurgen will be a little bit concerned about how poor they played today because it’s not like them at Anfield.”

Liverpool will be in action again on Monday evening when they take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
