Fresneda’s potential has been noted by a host of clubs and Real Valladolid are likely to lose the teenager this month.

Newcastle are leading the race amid suggestions that they are closing in on adding Fredneda to Eddie Howe’s squad.

Juventus have been scouting the full-back and, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, he is a big target for the Bianconeri.

However, the Italians currently have their hands tied as only a shareholders meeting set for 18th January can appoint a new board that could then release funds to spend.

The jury is out on whether Fresneda will still be at Real Valladolid by the time Juventus are able to spend.

The news is a boost for Newcastle’s hopes of landing the defender, who also has interest from Real Madrid, but believes it is too soon in his career to go to the Bernabeu.

Fresneda played the full 90 minutes against Real Madrid in La Liga recently, as he side went down to a 2-0 loss.
