Moffi is in demand in the January transfer window after his goalscoring exploits for Lorient in French football – and he has interest from the Premier League.
Southampton and West Ham, two sides that want to sign a striker, are claimed to have failed with offers to sign Moffi, with their bids not sufficient for Lorient.
Nice, who have also seen a bid rejected and have since gone in with a second proposal, now have an agreement with the player, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.
It is claimed that Moffi is happy to join Nice and an agreement is in place, which has been the case since the end of December.
Nice are now in talks with Lorient to try to reach an understanding for Moffi.
The south coast club are the clear frontrunners in the chase and it is unclear if Southampton or West Ham will be able to reclaim the initiative.
Moffi is currently the second highest scorer in Ligue 1 this season, level with Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar.
