Van de Beek has been involved during Manchester United’s pre-season but is not part of Erik ten Hag’s plans going forward.
Manchester United are keen to move him on before the transfer window slams shut on 1st September in a little over three weeks’ time.
Real Sociedad have been in talks to sign the midfielder but it has been claimed that an agreement between the two clubs is not imminent.
According to the local San Sebastian daily Noticias de Gipuzkoa, the Basque club are not in any rush to get a deal over the line at the moment.
With three weeks left in the transfer window, Real Sociedad do not want to rush into a deal to sign Van de Beek from the Red Devils.
He is a top target but Real Sociedad would prefer to sign him on a simple loan at this stage of the window.
Manchester United want a mandatory purchase clause or at least an option to buy for more than €20m.
Real Sociedad are prepared to bide their time and have other targets on their radar as well as alternatives to Van de Beek.
