Maguire is close to finding the exit door at Manchester United after being initially reluctant to leave Old Trafford earlier in the summer.

West Ham failed with an initial offer for the defender but they continued to hold talks with Manchester United as the England star has remained a top target for David Moyes.

Manchester United and West Ham have now agreed on a deal in principle worth £30m for Maguire’s move to the London Stadium.

And it has been claimed that the Hammers will be paying the lion’s share of the total fee upfront.

The two clubs are now finalising the details of a deal but Manchester United will get the bulk of the fee once the transfer goes through this summer.

His wages at Manchester United were expected to be a major stumbling block given he got a pay rise after they qualified for the Champions League.

However, West Ham are no longer expecting any problems in agreeing on personal terms with Maguire.
