Manchester United have agreed a fee with West Ham for the departure of their former club captain Harry Maguire this summer.

The defender is yet to agree on a contract with the Hammers but the east London club are not anticipating any problems in working out personal terms with him.

Manchester United are looking to bring in a replacement and Jean-Clair Todibo, Edmond Tapsoba and Pavard are the three defenders they are looking at.

But according to French sports daily L’Equipe (print edition), Pavard is the clear choice of the Manchester United manager.

Ten Hag has told the club to move forward and try and sign the Bayern Munich defender in the ongoing transfer window.

The Frenchman has a year left on his contract and has been clear about wanting to move on from the German champions.

A move to Manchester United appeals to him and he is keen on joining the Old Trafford outfit.

He wants to play as a centre-back moving forward and believes he will get that opportunity at Manchester United.

The Premier League giants will soon open talks with the Bavarians and a deal worth €30m is expected to be agreed.
