The Championship side have been trying to sign Amiri from Leverkusen and indicated they were prepared to pay a fee the Germans would find acceptable.

However, they have faced difficulties with convincing the player, who it emerged was having doubts about dropping down into the English second tier.

Now Amiri has made his mind up and the answer for Leeds is no, according to Sky Deutschland.

The Whites have been informed of Amiri’s decision and the fact he does not want to go to Elland Road.

Instead Amiri has his eyes set on a switch to French giants Marseille, who are in talks with Leverkusen to reach an agreement.

The German side want around €6m for the midfielder, which Leeds were willing to pay.

Marseille however think that overvalues a player with just a year left on his contract and want to pay a smaller sum.
