The 27-year-old centre-back has been a certain starter when fit since his arrival at West Ham last year from Rennes.

His resolve to continue at West Ham was tested in the last transfer window when several clubs were interested in signing him.

Aguerd received offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia and two unnamed European outfits in the recently concluded window.

However, it has been claimed that the defender told his representatives that he had no interest in leaving West Ham.

Al-Ittihad also showed late interest in the centre-back but never made an offer to sign him.

Aguerd is happy at West Ham and wants to repay the faith David Moyes and the rest of the club have shown in him.

He received support from the club and the coaching staff when he was out for four months due to an ankle injury last season.

Aguerd wants to repay that trust by playing a full season in West Ham colours and showing his true quality.
