Blind played in the famous Ajax team under Ten Hag that reached the semi-final of the Champions League in 2019.

The Dutchman left Manchester United to return to Ajax in 2018 and he admitted that Ten Hag played an important role in convincing him to move back to the Netherlands.

The defender revealed that the current Manchester United boss brings tactical clarity to the table, which makes it easier for players to follow his instructions.

He admitted that Ajax became a machine under Ten Hag and believes he can do the same at Manchester United if he gets the time.

Blind also pointed out his ruthless streak and conceded that the Manchester United manager is prepared to move on from players who are not sold on his way.

The Dutch defender told The Athletic: “He was very important to me.

“He explained his playing style, which was offensive.

“I had my doubts but after a month I was sold on it and believed in every part of it.

“We also had the right players to do it.

“He is tactically so clear in what he wants and it’s easy for players to follow that.

“If you leave things open, there’s a space for doubt.

“We became like a machine, better and better.

“In time, he can do that for United.

“He’s a great manager, great personality. He’s direct, honest, and tells you what he sees.

“He’s not afraid to make big decisions.

“If you don’t like it, you can go another way because his train goes on.”

Ten Hag won the EFL Cup in his first season at Manchester United and also managed a top-four finish in the Premier League.
