The VAR mess-up that disallowed a legitimate goal from Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz against Tottenham last weekend has continued to grab the headlines.

PGMOL have admitted that there was a communication breakdown between the on-field officials and VAR that led to Diaz’s goal being disallowed because of a wrong offside call.

Liverpool have let their unhappiness be known and some are suggesting that the wrong decision could have ramifications in this season’s title race.

However, Roberts indicated that Spurs were good enough to win the game against the Reds even if the goal had stood and stressed that there is an agenda against the north London club at the moment.

The Spurs legend wrote on X: “I listened to Clinton Morris [sic] last night and he’s saying that Liverpool could lose the league over this if the goal counted

“Do they think that with the 75 minutes left, we Spurs could not have won the game?

“So many pundits against Spurs, it wasn’t our fault so move on.”

Tottenham won 2-1 last weekend and ended Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season amid the huge controversy.
