Rangers have hailed Abdallah Sima’s international call-up by Senegal for the Africa Cup of Nations as well-deserved.

Former Rangers boss Michael Beale signed Sima on a season-long loan from Brighton in the summer to add to the Gers’ attacking options.

The 22-year-old winger has been in impressive form for Rangers and has netted 14 goals in all competitions for the Ibrox outfit.

His performances for Rangers have not gone unnoticed, as the winger has received a call-up to represent Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.

And Rangers on their social media have dubbed Sima’s call-up to the national squad well-deserved.

Sima has featured four times for Senegal international so far in his career and he will be eager to perform well in the tournament.

In the event of Senegal reaching the AFCON final, Sima would miss up to five games for Rangers.

Sima has scored four times while assisting one goal in his last five league games and Philippe Clement will be hoping that he can maintain his recent form against Celtic at the weekend.
