Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have their eyes on Arsenal defensive target Nico Schlotterbeck, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.

The 24-year-old defender joined Borussia Dortmund last year and has been a pillar in their defence over the last season-and-a-half.

His performances in Germany have piqued the interest of several teams across Europe who are looking for quality defensive additions in January.

Arsenal are amongst the teams who are interested in snaring Schlotterbeck away from Dortmund in the near future.

And it has been claimed that Manchester United and Tottenham are also considering a swoop for him.

Erik ten Hag’s need for defensive additions is not new and the Manchester United manager is keen on a move for the German.

Ange Postecoglou has also been clear about wanting more defensive depth in his Tottenham squad going forward and Spurs are expected to sign a centre-back.

German champions Bayern Munich also have their eyes on the former Freiburg defender at the moment.

It remains to be seen how Dortmund would respond to a substantial bid.
