Crystal Palace are one of the sides to have enquired about Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who is expected to move this month, according to The Athletic.

Phillips has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium and the Cityzens are open to offloading him in January on a loan deal.

Newcastle United and Juventus both want to sign Phillips, but the loan would be an expensive operation given the loan fee and wage coverage needed.

While a move to Turin has been dependent on coach Massimiliano Allegri’s desires, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are yet to move in as well.

In the meantime, Crystal Palace, who are in the market trying to strengthen their squad, have also come in.

In fact, Roy Hodgson’s side have enquired about Phillips, but nothing further to take the player to Selhurst Park has happened yet.

The deal could be an expensive one for the Eagles, but they are looking for loans.

Phillips wants to make sure he is playing on a regular basis ahead of Euro 2024 this summer.
