Derby County are set to make one last push to sign Sheffield Wednesday star Lee Gregory today, according to The Star.

The Rams are dealing with several injury issues in their forward department and Paul Warne has been left shorthanded in his options in his final third.

Derby are in the market for a striker and Sheffield Wednesday’s Michael Smith and Gregory are on their transfer wish list.

The League One outfit failed in their previous attempt to convince Sheffield Wednesday to let Gregory leave.

But now it has been suggested that the 35-year-old is not in Danny Rohl’s plans and they might approve an exit for Gregory if they receive a suitable offer.

It has been claimed that Derby are set to make one last attempt to sign the centre forward before the window closes.

Derby are eyeing promotion this season and they consider adding an experienced striker vital to achieving their goal.

Now it remains to be seen whether the Rams will be able to come up with a good offer to snatch Gregory from the Owls before the transfer window ends.
