Leeds United are pushing to sign Burnley defender Connor Roberts on loan on the final day of the transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Whites have been in the market for a full-back since allowing the exits of Luke Ayling and Djed Spence earlier in the transfer window.

Daniel Farke has admitted that there are holes in his squad that need filling but has been insistent that he is not desperate to bring in fresh faces.

Roberts is a player Leeds have been considering throughout the transfer window and is one they have finally made a move for on deadline day.

Fresh talks are ongoing between Leeds and Burnley for a potential move to Elland Road for the Wales international.

The Whites are looking to get a deal over the line to sign him on loan for the rest of the season.

The 28-year-old played a big role in getting Burnley promoted to the Premier League last season, which is one of the reasons Leeds want him.

However, Roberts has been a bit part player at Turf Moor this season and has been itching to play more football.
