Aberdeen are now in advanced talks with Neil Warnock to bring him in to take charge at Pittodrie, according to the National World.

The Dons are without a manager after showing Barry Robson the door amid a sustained period of poor form on his watch.

Aberdeen managed to play out a 1-1 draw at home against Celtic on Saturday, but the club still want a new boss in ASAP.

And that man is looking likely to be experienced campaigner Warnock, who has been out of work since leaving Championship side Huddersfield Town.

Aberdeen are now in advanced talks to appoint Warnock as boss.

Warnock has always wanted to manage in Scottish football and now looks set to get his wish at Aberdeen.

The Dons will be looking for Warnock to steady the ship and guide the side up the Scottish Premiership standings.

It remains to be seen how quickly Aberdeen can now push the appointment of Warnock over the line.
