Former Scotland defender Willie Miller thinks Celtic could be suffering from confidence issues, especially as Rangers continue to put pressure on at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Rangers piled on the pressure on the league leaders further on Tuesday night when they went level on points with Celtic following their 2-1 win over Aberdeen.

Philippe Clement’s team look like the form team in Scotland while Celtic continue to struggle with their performances and several injury issues in their squad.

Celtic will be visiting Easter Road tonight to take on an out-of-form Hibernian side and Miller insisted that it is time Brendan Rodgers’ side rise to the pressure and respond to Rangers’ results.

He stressed that there are clear confidence issues inside the Celtic squad, but it is up to the Bhoys to turn the tables on Rangers and apply pressure the other way.

Miller said on BBC Radio Scotland: “There are issues there and maybe confidence issues.

“When they look at the results Rangers are getting and the fact that they continually win games and put the pressure on, it is up to Celtic to do the same and take that pressure on board.

“And actually, get the results that they need.”

A win tonight would again open up a three-point gap for Celtic at the top albeit playing a game more than Rangers.
