Tottenham Hotspur striker Alejo Veliz has revealed that he spoke with Spurs team-mate Bryan Gil before joining Sevilla on loan.

The 20-year-old centre forward joined Tottenham in the summer of 2023 from Rosario Central and made eight appearances for Spurs this season.

In the recently closed transfer window, Spurs decided to send Veliz on loan to Sevilla to help him with his development.

Veliz revealed that he spoke with Gil, who joined Spurs from Sevilla and spent the second half of last season with the Spanish outfit, before agreeing a loan move to La Liga.

The Tottenham star also revealed that he visited Seville a month ago with Gil and added that his team-mate told him to go ahead with the move.

“I came with him about a month and a half ago and we got to know Sevilla a little bit”, Veliz told Sevilla’s official site.

“Then we went to his hometown and Bryan always spoke very well of the club.

“Before coming, I spoke with him and asked him about everything.

“He told me to go ahead because everything was a 10″.

The forward will now be hoping to impress for Sevilla so that he can get into Ange Postecoglou’s plans when he returns to Tottenham in the summer.
