Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has laughed off the suggestion that Spurs should fear Manchester United in the battle for a top four spot.

Manchester United scored an impressive 2-1 win away at top four rivals Aston Villa on Sunday to further boost their challenge for a Champions League spot.

He started for Unai Emery’s men against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday at Villa Park and played the full 90 minutes as his side were turned over 2-1.

Erik ten Hag’s side have now won their last three Premier League games in a row to move up to sixth, six points behind fourth placed Tottenham.

Manchester United’s top four challenge is now being talked up by former Red Devils, but Roberts has laughed off the suggestion Spurs have something to fear.

The Spurs legend wrote on X: “[Roy] Keane and [Gary] Neville making me laugh talking like United we should all be in fear.”

Tottenham returned to winning ways on Saturday with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are next due to play host to Wolves, while Ten Hag’s Manchester United are set to travel to strugglers Luton Town.
