Former top flight striker Gordon Dalziel has admitted that he does not see Liel Abada staying at Celtic in the summer unless Brendan Rodgers somehow manages to convince him.
The 22-year-old winger just returned from an injury in December but he has looked out of sorts on the pitch for Celtic.
The Israeli has come under pressure from his country to quit Celtic due to a section of their supporters lending their sympathies to Palestine in the ongoing conflict.
Dalziel admitted that Abada looked atrocious when he came on the pitch against Hibernian and it was difficult to see him not participating in the players celebrating their late win at Easter Road.
He conceded that Rodgers could still convince Abada to stay on but he does not see the player continuing at Celtic beyond the summer transfer window.
Dalziel said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “I think the worrying signs were there at Easter Road.
“He came off the bench and probably had his worst spell on a football pitch for a long time and he was all over the place.
“After the dramatic winner from the penalty kick, [everyone was] celebrating with the supporters but he goes up the tunnel and doesn’t take much part in it.
“Unless Brendan Rodgers can turn it around, which he could because he is a very good man-manager, but I think just now looking at the situation, Abada will leave Celtic in the summer.”
Abada was not in the squad in Celtic’s 2-0 win over St. Mirren in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup over the weekend.
