Former Celtic star Mark Wilson has denied that there is a crisis at Celtic Park and poured cold water over suggestions Brendan Rodgers should go.

Rodgers saw his side held to a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park by Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Now rivals Rangers can overtake Celtic at the top of the table if they can beat St Johnstone on Sunday.

A number of Celtic fans are taking aim at Rodgers and calling for his head amid the Bhoys’ lacklustre form.

Wilson though is not willing to accept that there is a crisis at Celtic or that Rodgers should be removed from his post.

“How can there be a crisis? We’re far from a crisis just now”, Wilson said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard.

“Celtic have played poorly in that last 45 minutes.

“They’ve not lost the game; they were really poor in that last 45 minutes and they could have lost it, so I get the anger, frustration and raw emotion from fans.

“It’s the second chance that Rangers have got to overtake them, but people saying Rodgers should walk tonight, come on!”

Celtic have now drawn two of their last three league games and will try to return to winning ways when they head to Fir Park to play Motherwell.
