Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has backed Harry Kane to break the German record for most goals in a Bundesliga season in the coming months.

Bayern Munich are sitting second in the Bundesliga standings and are in line to miss out on winning the league title for the first time in 12 years.

However, their star signing from last summer, Kane, has continued to produce the goods this term and has scored 27 times in 23 league appearances.

The record for the most number of goals in a German top-flight season was set by Robert Lewandowski, who scored 41 times in the league in the 2020/21 season for Bayern Munich.

Kane needs 15 goals in the last eleven league games to get that record for himself this term.

Spurs legend Roberts is convinced that if the England captain remains fit, he will break Lewandowki’s record.

The former Spurs star took to X and wrote: “Just seen Harry Kane needs 15 goals in 11 games to beat Lewandowski record and the German record for goals in a season.

“Bar an injury I have absolutely no doubt he does it!”

It remains to be seen whether Kane can score the goals needed to power Bayern Munich back into the title race this season.
