Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has insisted that he does not want to underestimate the importance of the point against Sunderland on Tuesday night as it has put his men within a point of Ipswich Town.

The Whites have won just one of their last four Championship games and are currently sitting third in the league table.

Leeds dropped more points this week when they only managed a 0-0 draw against Sunderland at Elland Road.

However, Farke insisted that he does not see the result against Sunderland as dropped points but feels his team gained a point, pointing to just a point’s difference with Ipswich.

He stressed that Sunderland are a good team and it is always a little bit tight towards the end of the season; the German believes it was a point gained rather than two points dropped.

The Leeds manager said in a press conference: “My attitude is that you can’t drop points, you can only gain points, we gained one point, one point closer to the top of the league, we are within one point of Ipswich and its always difficult to deliver win after win after win.

“The opposition we face are not bad.

“It is always a bit more difficult at the end of the season.

“You can’t underestimate one point, it was important not to lose the nerves and to lose the game, back to a clean sheet.

“We go into every game to win it, this is in our DNA but sometimes you have to take a point.”

Leeds are without a win in their last two games and will look to get back to winning ways when Blackburn Rovers come visiting Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
