Manchester United have started exploring negotiations in their pursuit of Bologna coach Thiago Motta, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.

Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United has continued to remain under the scanner with the team lying seventh in the Premier League standings.

The club are yet to take a definitive decision on him but they are actively looking at managers and coaches across Europe.

Motta has reportedly emerged as the preferred candidate for Manchester United if they decide to replace Ten Hag.

It has been claimed that the club recently started exploring negotiations for the Bologna coach’s move to Old Trafford.

They have been left impressed with the work the Italian has carried out at Bologna this season.

The Serie A side are sitting fourth in the league table and are in line to qualify for the Champions League.

Manchester United are looking to get the ball rolling on talks to convince Motta to move to Old Trafford in the summer.
