Arsenal are now ‘working to complete’ the bonus aspect of a deal with Bologna to sign Italy centre-back Riccardo Calafiori and are confident of an agreement.
Calafiori stood out in Serie A with Bologna last season and then further added to his reputation at Euro 2024 with Italy.
Several sides are keen on taking the defender from Bologna, but it is Arsenal who are putting in a real push to land his signature.
They are now ‘working to complete’ the bonuses part of the transfer fee with Bologna, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.
All parties are confident about finalising the deal for Calafiori to head to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have already put personal terms in place with the defender, with a contract running for five years and worth a basic €3.5m per year having been agreed.
The Gunners are now in pole position to get the deal done despite interest from other clubs in the Italy international persisting.
Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are amongst the sides who have been credited with being keen on Calafiori.
