Turkish side Alanyaspor have started negotiations with Championship side Luton Town over winger Andros Townsend.

After being forced to stay out of action for a lengthy period of time, Townsend got a lifeline when Luton Town handed him a new contract.

A short-term deal was eventually made long-term when the Hatters offered him a new contract in January this year.

Townsend eventually ended the season with 31 appearances though he was unable to preserve his club’s top-flight status.

Now a Championship player, he is drawing interest from Turkey where Alanyaspor are keen on him, according to Turkish outlet Sports Digitale.

In fact, Fatih Tekke’s side have started official negotiations with Luton for the transfer of the 33-year-old.

Alanyaspor are keen to have Townsend on board for the start of the new Turkish Super Lig season.

Townsend has never played his football outside England and could be tempted by the idea of a stint in Turkey.
