Bologna boss Vincenzo Italiano has warned his players about the Liverpool threat, insisting that the Reds know how to put the visitors in trouble.

In their second match of the league stage in the Champions League, the Reds are set to play host to the Serie A outfit tonight.

The 46-year-old manager knows how tough the match is going to be and expects his players to do better in everything they have done so far this season.

Each of the visiting players will have to give their best individual performance to take anything away from Anfield, Italiano insists.

“We have to go strong and do better than everything we’ve done so far”, the Bologna manager said at a press conference.

“They know how to put you in trouble from every point of view, we have to play our game giving our best in terms of individual performance.”

Describing the league phase of the Champions League as a ‘mini-tournament’, the Bologna manager insisted: “I told the boys “let’s focus” because this is a mini tournament and there is a league table where we have to be able to get points.

“Liverpool beat Milan, they are going strong in the league, but we want to take our chances”.

Arne Slot’s team beat AC Milan 3-1 in their last match while Bologna were held to a goalless draw by Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
