Lille are keen on Bastia forward Florian Thauvin.

The 19-year-old has also been the subject of interest from English Premier League outfit Newcastle, who are extremely active in the French market.

However, the Magpies have been quoted €5M for Thauvin and as a result, have pulled back slightly.

Now, according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Lille boss Rudi Garcia is interested in snapping up Thauvin.

Lille are planning an overhaul of their attacking options and would like to add the forward to their ranks.

Bastia meanwhile are desperate to persuade Thauvin to pen a new contract.

The player’s current deal with the side expires in 2014, meaning by the summer he will have only one further year left to run.

Thauvin has been a regular choice for Bastia in Ligue 1 this season, clocking up 17 appearances and scoring three goals.

He is rated as a bright prospect and has been the cause of a number of scouts’ journeys to the Stade Armand Cesari.
