Jose Mourinho believes Chelsea's Premier League title hopes are over afer they lost 1-0 away at Crystal Palace today.

Chelsea had started as firm favourites against the relegation battlers, but found themselves completely outfought at Selhurst Park as Tony Pulis' men took a firm grip of the game.

The vital goal came in the second half when Chelsea defender John Terry headed the ball into his own net from a Joel Ward cross in the 52nd minute, putting Palace 1-0 up.

Chelsea tried to push back into the game, but Palace enjoyed chances to extend their lead and proved good value for their three-point haul.

Now, despite Chelsea still sitting top of the league, Mourinho feels his team's title chances have been ended, with advantage Liverpool and Manchester City.

"I think now we lose any chance of finishing first", he told the BBC.

"I think now we depend too much on other results, too much.

"I know that Mr Foy's weekend [the referee Mourinho felt caused Chelsea to lose at Aston Villa] was an important weekend in this round.

"But today we threw away three points.

"We lost against a team that was difficult, but we lost against a team that was better than us in spirit and personality."
