Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici has revealed that Chelsea and Inter Milan target Jonathan Calleri could be sold in the winter transfer window.

The 22-year-old forward has been in fine nick for the Argentinean giants and together with Carlos Tevez, played an instrumental role in delivering their 31st league title earlier this year.

His performances in Argentina did not remain under wraps for long as there is speculation top European clubs such as Chelsea and Inter Milan are actively following his progress.

Boca Juniors president Angelici is aware of the interest in Calleri and admits that he could be forced to sell the player in the winter transfer window as he doesn’t want to stand in front of the talented forward’s career.

Speaking to Radio America and Closs, the club president said: “He could be sold at Christmas as there are good offers and we don’t want to stand in his away."

It was claimed yesterday that Chelsea have already reached an agreement over a fee for Calleri and are set to welcome him to Stamford Bridge in January.

However, Angelici denied the existence of such a deal and insisted that they are yet to agree a transfer for Calleri with any club.

He said: “At the moment, no deal has been closed, and there is only chatter.”

Calleri has scored 21 goals in all competitions for Boca Juniors this season and has a contract until 2017 with the club.
