Scottish outfit Aberdeen are in advanced talks with champions Celtic for the signature of youngster Ryan Chrstie on loan until the end of the season, according to STV.

The 21-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Dons with manager Derek McInnes reportedely showing keen interest in securing the services of the player.




It is now believed that the team placed third in the league are expected to confirm the signing in the next 24 hours just in time for their match against Dundee on Friday.

The 21-year-old winger has found his chances limited under manager Brendan Rodgers, featuring seven times and scoring a lone goal. He has also set up one more for his team-mates.
 


The youngster had in fact spoken about his desire to stay put at Celtic Park and fight for his place in Rodgers' senior team.

"My thought is to stay here. At the start of the season I was asked the same question but right now my full focus is on trying to break in to the first team", Christie was quoted as saying by STV last week.

"We went out to Dubai and it was a great trip.

"We've been training hard and I'm fully confident in these five months I can still make a great impact."

Christie joined Celtic from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in September 2015 but was immediately loaned out to his childhood club. He finally returned to Paradise in January.
