Bielsa turned Leeds around from a mid-table Championship club into winners of the second tier and led the club to promotion last term after two years in the hot seat.

His Leeds side are earning plaudits for the style of football they have continued to play in the Premier League and they have made a solid start to life in the top tier of English football.

Bielsa enjoys the faith and trust of his Leeds players and Green, who has been in touch with his former Leeds team-mates, admits that they are completely in love and awe of their boss.

He conceded that the Leeds players do not always understand the Argentine, but have complete trust in him as his methods have reaped rewards and have taken them to levels where they never imagined they would be.

The former Leeds goalkeeper said on LUTV: “They love him; they think he is everything that you could imagine him to be.

“They trust him implicitly because they get what he is doing.

“I don’t think they understand it every time, but I think just trust the fact that they are learning from him all the time.

“The reasons that he comes up sometimes are mind-blowing for them but makes perfect sense.

“It is an interesting dynamic and the lads there are looking at it, ‘look he is taking us to places that we couldn’t imagine under previous managers or previous clubs and so let’s just stick with it and do everything we can’.

“And they are reaping the rewards.”

Bielsa has been nominated for FIFA’s The Best Coach of the Year award for his achievement last season with Leeds.
