Leeds came into their first season back in the Premier League with many players who had never had any experience of playing in the top tier of English football.

The Whites also signed players from outside England and there were suggestions that their lack of Premier League experience could hurt them.

But two-thirds of the way into the season, Leeds are sitting in tenth in the league table and Bielsa feels some of the players are looking more confident and assured of their place in the Premier League.

He insisted that the Leeds players always believed in their style of football, but individually they are looking better, citing the example of Patrick Bamford.

The former White stressed that they are playing at a different level compared to the start of the season.

The Leeds legend said on LUTV: “I think more and more the players are getting confident.

“They have always been confident in the way they play their game, I think they believe in the way they play their game but they are getting more confident as individuals.

“I think they realise now, regardless of who they play in the Premier League, they can be a match for them.

“You take Patrick Bamford, I look at Patrick and 100 goals is a great achievement. His game has improved no end in recent months.

“He has always worked hard but his contributions to the side and the runs he is making behind defenders, everybody has just stepped up.

“They are probably playing at a lot higher level than they did at the start of the season from the point of view of exposing teams, their ability as individuals seems to have improved and they are all playing for each other.”

Leeds have broken into the top half of the table and are aiming to stay there until the end of the season.
