Gbamin returned to the pitch last week as he came off the bench in a 1-1 Premier League draw with Crystal Palace, following a 597-day spell on the sidelines owing to two serious injuries

However, the midfielder is now facing another extended injury layoff as he suffered an injury while in training prior to the Toffees goalless draw away at Brighton & Hove-Albion on Monday in the league.

Ex-Everton star Ball has revealed his heart bleeds for Gbamin after his latest injury setback, and acknowledged the midfielder is going through a tough time.

However, Ball is sure Everton are going to have Gbamin’s back all the way as they did for the better part of the last two years, and will help him return to the pitch again.

“The heart bleeds for him”, Ball wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.

“It’d be so difficult in normal times, in my day it was so difficult, but with the situation right now it’s going to be even worse.

“I’m sure the club, like they have done in the past, are going to take care of him and make sure he’s in the best way possible.

“For him personally it must be heart-breaking.

“He’ll have been wanting to play maybe half a dozen games until the end of the season and show why he was brought to the football club, and be in the manager’s eye for next season.

“Now it’s all been taken away, it’s going to be a hard pill to swallow for him.”

Everton are also dealing with multiple injury issues across all departments with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Bernard and Andre Gomes all missing their game against the Seagulls.

The Toffees are now set to face fellow European hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur on Friday and boss Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping he will receive some good new on the injury front in the coming days.
