The Brazilian joined West Ham from Lazio on a deal worth up to £41.5m in the summer of 2018, but the move has not gone according to plan for him.

Anderson, who spent last season on loan at Portuguese club FC Porto, is deemed surplus to requirements at West Ham and the club are open to moving him on.

And it appears that Lazio are prepared to offer the 28-year-old an escape route out of the London Stadium by taking him back to Italy this summer.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Anderson could soon be on his way back to Lazio, with talks over a switch from West Ham progressing.

New Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is an admirer of the winger and wanted to sign him during his time at Napoli.

The Italian tactician is claimed to have given the green light to bring Anderson back to Lazio as he prepares for his first season as the coach of the Rome-based club.

However, West Ham will be keen to recoup a part of the sum they paid for Anderson and it remains to be seen how much they will demand for his sale this summer.
