The 21-year-old spent the latter half of last season on loan at Salford and only had a year left on his contract at Leeds.

He was not part of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans going forward and Leeds were looking to find a new club for him throughout the summer.

The Whites finally found a buyer on deadline day in League Two side Barrow, who signed him on a permanent deal from the Yorkshire giants.

Gotts spent 15 years at Leeds and came through the ranks at Elland Road before making three senior appearances for the club.

The midfielder bid farewell to Leeds and to everyone at the club who helped him develop over the last 15 years at Elland Road.

Gotts posted a photo on Instagram and wrote: “After 15 years of being at the club it’s come to an end.

“Grateful of Leeds for all the memories and to all the players/ staff who helped me along the way.

“Always in my heart.”

Gotts will hope to prove himself in League Two with Barrow after cutting off his ties with Leeds permanently.
