Drameh started and complete the full 90 minutes in Leeds’ 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the EFL Cup at the Emirates.

The right-back has been part of Leeds’ Premier League matchday squads a few times this season but finally got an opportunity to play on Tuesday night.

Drameh conceded that the preparation for the Arsenal game has been unlike to anything he has been part of due to the fact that he was nervous.

He admitted that he is calmer and composed before games but conceded that the nervous energy was normal as he was making his debut.

The teenager said BBC Radio Leeds: “I found out midday [that I would be playing] and throughout the day my heart has been really beating.

“It has been really different to any other game I have played, usually I am more calm and relaxed but obviously, it was my first-team debut.

“I was nervous but excited as well.”

He revealed that Biela broke the news to him during a one-on-one meeting and Drameh conceded that found it hard to control his excitement during his talks with the Leeds boss.

“We had a meeting and he brought me in with his translator and just showed me a few clips of how I have been playing.

“And after that, he told me that I am starting.

“I just had to keep my composure until after the meeting.”
