Ronaldo produced two sparking goals to rescue a point for Manchester United against Atalanta from Bergamo on Tuesday night.
The Portuguese’s stunning injury-time strike in Italy kept Manchester United on course to make it to the last 16 of the Champions League this season.
Ronaldo has scored five times in four Champions League group games and has proved some of his naysayers wrong.
There was noise that the veteran forward is a problem for Manchester United due to his refusal to press, but Agbonlahor feels that he now deserves a few apologies.
He stressed that Ronaldo is the player who is keeping Manchester United afloat in the Champions League and the Premier League.
The former striker said on talkSPORT: “A lot of people need to apologise really about the way they spoke about Ronaldo that he is the going to be the problem for Manchester United.
“He is the one saving them.
“He is not the problem.
“He is the one that’s getting them results, keeping them in the Champions League and keeping them in the race for the top four.”
Manchester United need Ronaldo to fire again when they host Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.
