Forshaw has returned to action following a two-year injury layoff and has immediately made his mark for Marcelo Bielsa’s team.

He was impressive yet again as his side beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home on Tuesday night.

Bielsa has admitted that he is surprised by how good Forshaw has been since he returned to action, but the midfielder himself insists he is not surprised.

“Not really, in all honesty [I haven’t been surprised with my level of performance]”, Forshaw told BBC Radio Leeds.

Reflecting on his stint with Middlesbrough in the Premier League, the midfielder insisted that it was one of the best parts of his career.

“I would probably say that some of the best parts of my career was when I was in the Premier League with Middlesbrough.”

Forshaw is enjoying football in the Premier League and believes that the less frantic nature of the league, compared to the Championship, suits him more.

“I am not too sure what’s probably the difference between the Premier League and the Championship, it may be is a little bit frantic in the Championship than the Premier League.

“So, I try and be as calm on the ball as I can.

“I feel like, as modest as I can be, it suits me a bit more at times this league than the Championship because there is a little bit more football played in all due respect.”

The midfielder will now be aiming to stay injury free over the busy December period of games as he looks to kick on in the Premier League.
