Arfield will be out of contract at the end of the season and Rangers want to keep the 33-year-old midfielder at Ibrox beyond next summer.

 

The midfielder has been a key player for Rangers this season and has made 27 appearances across all competitions for the Glasgow giants.

 

 

The 33-year-old revealed that his agent has been in talks with Rangers about working out an agreement over a new contract.

 

He stressed his willingness to continue at Ibrox and is confident that an agreement will be in place for him to stay at Rangers for a number of years to come.

 

 

“My agent is talking to the club”, Arfield said in a press conference when asked about his contract situation.

 

“This is a club I want to be a part of. I love being part of this football club.

 

 

“This is a club I want to be a part of for a number of years and hopefully we can get an agreement quite quickly.”

 

Arfield joined Rangers on a free transfer from Burnley in 2018 and has featured 167 times for the club.
