Leeds slumped to a fourth defeat in five league games when Liverpool thrashed them 6-0 at Anfield on Wednesday night, continuing a pattern of heavy losses against top teams and criticism Bielsa will not change his approach dependent upon the opposition.

The Whites have conceded 56 goals this season and are just three points above the relegation zone with teams below them having games in hand over them.

There are now suggestions that Leeds should consider sacking Bielsa and bringing in someone else to arrest the slide, but Jordan stressed that it is ludicrous to think along those terms.

He feels Leeds have struggled this season due to missing key players who make the whole system tick for Bielsa’s side.

Jordan said on talkSPORT: “This is the style that they play, this is how they play.

“They have the situation where they have got a depleted squad for the entirety of the season and there is an element of these key components are out of their side, affect the whole axis of the team and how they play.”

Gabriel Agbonlahor compared Bielsa to Sunday league managers but Jordan stressed that the striker would have never made the Argentine’s side.

He believes it is laughable to suggest that Bielsa needs to be replaced at Elland Road as he remains an excellent coach.

“It is laughable to suggest that Bielsa would have ever signed Gabriel Agbonlahor in the first place and laughable to suggest that Leeds United need to be replacing him right now.

“He is an excellent coach and they are having a difficult time.”

Teams below Leeds, in the shape of Newcastle United and Burnley, have now started to win games.
