The Brazilian was Newcastle’s most expensive signing in the January window but is yet to establish himself as a regular under Howe.

Bruno was not in the starting eleven on Sunday in their 5-1 loss away at Tottenham Hotspur, as he had a busy few days with the Brazil national team during the international break prior to the clash, with Howe preferring to play Jonjo Shelvey ahead of him.

Howe has revealed that he has enjoyed working with the midfielder as he is winner at heart and has a great attitude towards sweating it out on the training pitch.

The Magpies boss added that the Brazilian’s flamboyance and technique on the ball is well complemented by his toughness, which are all great qualities to have in a midfielder.

“He’s someone I’ve really enjoyed working with”, Howe told a press conference.

“He’s very much a winner and has a great attitude to his training.

“With his flamboyance and technique comes a steeliness which is hugely important in his position.

“So we’ll see what happens tomorrow.”

All eyes will be on whether Howe will hand Bruno his first start in front of the home fans on Friday when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league.
