The Brazilian arrived at St James’ Park in January as Newcastle’s biggest signing in that window from French giants Lyon.

Bruno made his first start at home for Newcastle on Friday night in their 1-0 Premier League win over Wolves and put on an impressive display in front of the loud Magpies faithful.

Newcastle star Almiron has hailed Bruno as a top player and stressed all the Magpies star already knew the quality he is going to add to their game.

Almiron added that the 24-year-old makes the game a lot easier for his team-mates when he is pulling the strings in the middle of the park.

Asked how much he thinks Bruno can add to the team going forward, Almiron told NUFC TV: “As players, we already knew what Bruno could bring to the side, and I think the fans and everyone can see that when he is out on the pitch.

“It is not even up for discussion; Bruno is a top, top player.

“Yes, I did get to come up against him [for Paraguay] in Brazil, and yes, as a group of players we are overjoyed to have him playing alongside us, and I think the game becomes much easier when he is there featuring with us.”

Newcastle are gearing up to lock horns with Leicester City in the league on Sunday and fans will be hoping Bruno will go from strength to strength in the remaining games of this season.
