The Glasgow giants beat Braga 3-1 at Ibrox on Thursday night to make it to the last four of the European tournament.

Rangers needed extra time to get it over the line despite dominating Braga over 90 minutes, but they are in a European semi-finals for the first time since making the final of the UEFA Cup in 2008.

They will be up against one of the favourites to the tournament now in Leipzig, but Ferguson insisted that Rangers have a big chance of going all the way and winning the tournament.

He conceded that Leipzig are a better team than Braga, but believes Rangers can get the better of them as they did when they beat Borussia Dortmund earlier in the tournament.

Ferguson said on the Go Radio Football Show: “I think it’s anybody’s to win now.

“The teams who are in the semis now in terms of who Rangers are playing then Leipzig are up a level to Braga.

“But again, it’s a winnable game.”

The other semi-final will involve West Ham taking on another German side in the shape of Eintracht Frankfurt.
