The Gers fell to a narrow 1-0 loss away at Leipzig last week in the first leg of their Europa League semi-finals tie.

Rangers will host the Bundesliga outfit in the return leg tonight and they will be determined to overturn the deficit and book a place in the final in front of their home fans.

Gers legend Albertz has insisted that Rangers will have to push forward and put Leipzig under pressure as they have no other way to approach the game, given that they are already down one goal on aggregate.

Albertz feels that their narrow loss at Leipzig is still a positive result, and is certain the Light Blues faithful will be backing their team from the first whistle.

Asked how he thinks Rangers will approach the game against Leipzig, Albertz told German magazine Kicker: “They have to play forward and create pressure, they have no other choice.

“In the 4-2 win in Dortmund, Rangers surprised BVB with their attacking style of play, but at home they could wait and see [what happened].

“In Leipzig they played a lot more defensively, they really wanted a good result and a 1-0 loss is definitely that.

“They know the fans at the Ibrox will be freaking out from the first minute and as long as the score is there, nobody will remain rooted to their seats.”

Rangers were able to knock out Bundesliga opposition in Borussia Dortmund earlier this season in the Europa league and fans will be hoping for a repeat, this time against Die Rotten Bullen.
