With the big-money takeover last year, the Magpies are aiming to improve both on and off the pitch as they look to push up into the very elite of the European game.

While improving the team on the field has been an objective since the new owners arrived, they have also been aware of the need for investment in the club’s training facilities.

The current standard of Newcastle’s facilities at Darsley Park are claimed to not even approach the level of the Championship let alone the Premier League.

And so the Magpies have drawn up plans to improve the Darsley Park training ground and have submitted them.

The idea is to bring them to the level of other Premier League clubs and the first signals are they will be given the go-ahead.

Newcastle’s plans for a revamp include aspects such as new changing rooms, better-developed facilities as well as a new players’ lounge.

The Magpies are also building a new kitchen in addition to a new hydro pool that is said to be inspired by Manchester City and Chelsea, for the players to use.
