The 32-year-old Polish international joined Leeds in 2017 after leaving Twente, and last year he made 33 league appearances while assisting two goals.
Klich scored two goals against Barnsley in the club’s EFL Cup match on Wednesday and played a crucial role in Leeds’ victory.
Whites assistant manager Maric expressed his delight at Klich’s performance against Barnsley and explained that the 32-year-old provides personality to the whole Leeds squad.
The Polish international is being linked with a move away from Elland Road in order to get more regular game time before the 2022 World Cup, but Maric insisted that the player is totally committed to Leeds.
“We had a lot of talks with him and he’s very committed”, Maric was quoted saying by Leeds Live.
“He’s, again, the locker room in general is very, very good.
“He’s one of these guys that gives a team of personality in every training and in these games, and we trust him.
“He came on against Wolves and Southampton.
“He’s, just a very, very good player and he also showed it today over 90 minutes.
“I thought he did exceptionally well, the way he defends and supports our build-up.
“I think he just shows his qualities.”
Klich has featured in all three Premier League games this season but yet to start one and he will be eager to get into the starting line-up for the Whites’ match against Brighton on Saturday.
