Rangers were condemned to their heaviest home defeat in history when Liverpool humiliated them 7-1 at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

The Glasgow giants are now involved in a scrap to finish third and reach the Europa League playoff round, but the odds are stacked against them and they are leaking goals at an alarming rate.

However, Rangers are just two points from Celtic in the league table and Moore stressed the importance of the club now focusing on chasing the Scottish Premiership title in the ongoing campaign.

He conceded that the injuries to Connor Goldson and Ryan Jack could be a problem, but insisted that Rangers need to show a tough mentality to come back from such a defeat and do a job in the league this weekend.

Moore said on the Go Radio Football Show: “Back to the bread and butter.

“It goes to show how important domestically the title is and getting back to winning ways as quickly as you can.

“A couple of injuries could be key misses for Rangers in Connor Goldson and Ryan Jack.

“Rangers will certainly be stretched but the only way for big clubs to survive is a strong mentality.

“That strong mentality needs to be shown in terms of going back to the training ground, working hard and getting a winning result in the league.”

Rangers will travel to Fir Park to take on Motherwell in a Scottish Premiership clash on Sunday.
